Back by popular demand, our pulled pork burritos will be ready to serve tonight, June 1st. A couple of years ago I stopped selling burritos in the snack bar because it was a labor intensive product for me. I wear a number of hats as the owner of this drive-in. We’re a family run business with three family members doing the bulk of the work. This season my parents, John and Carolyn joined us to give some much needed support and work relief. They are fantastic (and good looking!). My mom is an excellent cook and an efficiency nut. She figured out a way to make the burritos work and let me off the hook making them. They’ve been on slow cook since last night and smell delicious right now!
If burritos aren’t your thing, my dad, John, is still cooking up juicy hamburgers and bratwurst on the grill. The brats are simmered in dark beer and onions before they hit the grill and mom mixes up the burger meat with some secret spices to give it great flavor. At 1/3 of a lb, the burgers are a meal. We have combo deals with fries or onion rings and a large drink that save you money.
As most of our regular patrons are aware, we make the bulk of our profits in the concession stand. The film companies “sell” us the movies in a combo package that comes out to about 80% of the ticket price you pay for admission. So on every adult admission we make about $1.40. To run a seasonal business, April-September, we pay over $23,000.00 in liability insurance alone. We have to sell a lot of tickets before we get the insurance bill paid! So we need your support in the snack bar and we’re hoping our hot food, friendly service and menu variety will entice you to support us along the way.
