Summer Season Almost Over

Hard to believe the 2014 Drive In Season is almost over.  Every year I wonder where the time has gone, and along with that, why I am so tired!  Must have been another busy season.

We will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday only starting Friday, August 15th.  Our final weekend for the 2014 season will be September 5th and 6th.

We’re very honored and excited to be chosen as one of the Fort Collins 150 exhibits at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery.  The exhibit opens on August 20 and our speaker post, complete with two vintage speakers will be on display along with 149 other points of interest that have made the City a treasure for the past 150 years.  On August 20th Wes and I will be at the opening and hope to see you there.

Our movie line-up this week will remain the same as last week.  Screen 1: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with co-hit Hercules.  Screen 2: Guardians of the Galaxy with co-hit Into the Storm.

See you at the movies!

What happened to the kids’ movies (rated G or PG) that were available earlier this summer? I waited until the last weekend of summer vacation to take the kids to the drive in because the sun sets earlier in the evening, but now there are no appropriate movies available for them! So disappointed!

We played every G and PG movie this summer that was available within our time schedule. Right now there are no new movies with G or PG ratings that we have not played.

Why is your final weekend for the 2014 season will be September 5th and 6th?

Yes, our last weekend will be September 5 & 6. Once we reduce our open times to weekends only it is difficult for us to have new product from the film companies and the business slows down too much for it to be profitable. We will re-open in April 2015.

    Hi there,
I’m trying to plan a team building activity for my daughters U12 soccer team. Would it be possible to reserve an area for our cars to park in a grouping?

    Thanks in advance

Let us know what night you are coming, which show you’d like to attend and how many vehicles and we will reserve pole parking for you. Please send an email to holidaytwin@hotmail with this information. Thanks!

I know what you mean before, but when you guys open back in April 2015, why are you only gonna do Friday and Saturday nights only in April and May even though the weather is a little warm in April and warm on May?

We don’t have enough business during the weekdays to justify operational costs until we reach Memorial Day Weekend. But we will add Sunday nights starting in May :)

Thank you for keeping a piece of my childhood alive. The drive-in was always an exciting outing for me as a child and it’s awesome to be able to share it with my grandchildren. You all are just another reason Ft Collins ROCKS!!

Thanks for keeping the drive-in going, it’s one of my favorite things in Fort Collins!
I’ve never bicycled to the drive-in but have heard that’s possible. If I do that before end of season is it the same as taking a car? Or is there a separate line or a special location to park? I’ve been concerned that if we park in a regular spot in the lot that a car driver might think it’s open and accidentally drive over us!

We frequently have bicyclers at the drive-in. You can sit right down front and there will not be a problem with cars not seeing you.

I am thrilled to live where we can still go to the Drive-in. I love it, my kids love it and it is such a wonderful way to share a summers night. Thank you for keeping the Drive in experience alive!!!

What happened to the Planes: Fire and Rescue giveaway? My son entered, but nothing has been posted since the initial announcement.

Hello! I just wanted to say thank you for all of your hard work in keeping this wonderful drive in going year after year. It was the first place I took my wife for a date back in 2005. Back when we where still dating. It’s a very special place for my family and I. I did have one question. Have you ever thought about doing something for Halloween? Year after year I always thought that would be great. Maybe show a few classic Halloween movies?

Thank you so much for your nice comments, we appreciate them. We have thought many times about having something on the weekend around Halloween. We’ll keep you posted if that becomes a reality!
